Winners – La Jolla Concours d'Elegance 2026

This year’s La Jolla Concours d’Elegance once again brought together some of the finest historic automobiles in the world along the California coastline. Set above the Pacific Ocean, the event continues to be one of the most elegant and respected concours gatherings in the United States, attracting collectors, enthusiasts and judges from around the globe.

For us, this year’s edition was especially meaningful — not only because of the extraordinary atmosphere and remarkable selection of automobiles, but because two very special cars and their owners returned home with trophies.

Eric Blumencranz / Paul Petrovich Mercedes-Benz 280 SL ZF and 300 SL Roadster restored by Bechtel win trophies during La Jolla

Paul Petrovich was taking center stage with his remarkable 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster — an unrestored, highly original example that continues to tell its story through every detail. Fully restored and mechanically recommissioned using original parts only, the car represents a philosophy we have believed in since 1972: respecting originality while bringing these icons back to exceptional factory condition.

Also among the distinguished participants was Eric Blumencranz with his exceptional 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL featuring the highly sought-after ZF 5-speed gearbox — one of the rarest configurations ever offered for the W113 Pagoda. The car stood out for its authenticity, elegance and detailed presentation, earning admiration from visitors and judges throughout the weekend.

We are incredibly grateful to Paul Petrovich and Eric Blumencranz for their trust, enthusiasm and shared appreciation for authenticity and restoration. Seeing these cars being celebrated on an international stage reminds us why we continue doing what we do every single day: preserving and restoring the cars we all love — with respect for their history, character and soul.
